I decided to go to the kitchen for a Coke. I needed a minute out of the limelight of the party.
What I didn't count on was bumping into Nicole and Robi.
I wanted to turn around. I told myself to turn around. There was something about the two of them talking I didn't like. But I knew Robi had seen me out of the corner of his eye. If I turned around, he would notice. Besides. Where would I go?

I kept walking. I threw up my hand to wave at Robi as I went past but he didn't look up. Nicole was talking to him in a hushed voice.
I walked past him and he didn't even look up.... That never happens. It was almost like he was ignoring me.

What were they talking about? It was something about the food, right? Lying to myself wasn't working. They were talking about me. About what Gwen had said. Nicole had always had it out for me. She destroyed other people's relationships. That's what she did to George and me, when we were in highschool. She was a predator. And she was talking to Robi. If there was ever a time for her to strike, this would be it. She could say anything, and I wouldn't blame Robi if he believed her...

It was going to take more than a Coke to get me through this.
And then, I heard a familiar voice.
Well. If it isn't The Heiress.....

Uncle Galileo. I didn't know you were in here. Why aren't you out with everyone else?
This is where the coffee is.

The real question is why aren't you with everyone else? It's your son's party - at your house - and here you are hiding in bathtubs and talking to old green men. I thought you were a professional party guest.

What? But. How did you do that? How could you? I don't understand. Uncle Gal...
Who do you think you're hiding from?
