I Dream of Bella - 4

I laid on the ground of what would someday be my home and searched the skies for Bella. I wonder if you really are up there Bella. Floating around in a hot air balloon, watching the world pass you by. I wonder if you ever wonder what you're missing out on.

I looked at Aristotle. My Great Great Great Grandfather. He was my past and my future all rolled into one, sleeping under imitation leopard print blankets, in a house that resembles a porch more than anything else. I didn't know starting out looked like this. I wanted him to quit this whole Legacy thing. I still don't agree with it. But I can almost see why it appealed to him. He has to end up with Brandi. Otherwise, none of this is going to work.

I knew what I had to do. I took my wedding ring out of my pocket and looked at it.

This was my grandmother's wedding ring. My father told me it had been in my family for generations. I didn't realize what that meant. I do now. This family has to move forward, so that I can move forward.

I laid the ring on the counter. It was time for it to go back to it's original owner. This is Brandi's wedding ring. Ari is supposed to give this ring to Brandi...

Hoo? Are you out there? Hoo! I figured out my destiny! Ari is supposed to marry Brandi and start a legacy, and I'm supposed to give him the ring so he can do it. You can take me home now. Do you hear me Hoo??? Hoo???

I returned to my star gazing spot. The Legacy Land sky was so big and the stars were so bright. Everything felt new. This was the beginning of time.

And then, for a split second, I saw it. A dot, in the sky.

Bella? Is that you?

Ari! Wake up Ari! I think I see Bella! Come look!

That's not a balloon. That's a space ship. Hoo! I figured it out Hoo! Take me back!
