Having Robi in the house has really changed the whole family. He's got my dad hooked on the bug business. It's like the career dad never got to have. After spending the majority of his life as a tree hugging party-boy, he seems to be discovering that he actually enjoys the business world. Who knew? Robi says anything that keeps Dad from wearing his fig-leaf is a good thing.
But Robi is quick to drop everything the minute I walk in the room. It just doesn't seem right. Isn't he supposed to be wrapped up in his job and ignore me or something? It's nearly impossible to be mad at him. How infuriating!
And my mom. Apparently she had all kinds of free time after Plato, Izzy and I went away to college. She's become like this major ace on that SSX video game, she even plays LAN. Nobody in the house can beat her! But Robi has sure been trying. Of all the things I thought he would connect with my mom over, in a million years I wouldn't have thought it would be video games. My mom hated that game when we were kids. It just goes to show you... anything is possible in this house.
I'm not sure what else there is to tell you. I guess I could give you an example in 'a day in the life' ? That should tell you everything you need to know.
First. We wake up. Not too early. Very often I've been at a party until 2 or 3 a.m.
Shhhh! No crying babies allowed here.
Then we go downstairs, If we're lucky, Captain WooHoo and his Warrior Woman aren't there. I love my parents, but uh, nudity is a deal breaker. Robi insists on making me breakfast.
He makes pancakes, my favorite, and I watch. We're a good team.
I tell him he's the best husband in the history of Legacy Land and I want to suck the lips right off of his face. He gives me extra maple syrup when I say that.
Stop and smell the mancakes, uhh, pancakes. That's what I always say.
Then, after talking to my parents about business, he goes off to kill bugs. Sometimes I ride along, and sometimes I stay home and do my own thing. eat chips, shop, get coffee, and have the occasional meeting with Burke's people about Confessions. Sometimes I have ads to do for 'Chips off the Block' but mostly, I can do what I want, which is how it's supposed to be when you're an heiress. Isn't it? I really don't know how people find time to have babies AND do everything else.
At the end of the day Robi comes home. He tells me I'm the best thing he's seen all day. I remind him he's been looking at dead bugs all day. He says even with all those legs and massive reproductive properties, I'm still way hotter than any bug.
He tells me he's been waiting all day to give me a massage. I try not to refuse him. I hate to disappoint.
We have dinner. Sometimes we go out so we can be alone. Sometimes it's hard to feel like we have our own life with my parents there. I know it's supposed to be my house, but it still feels like theirs. They try to stay out of our way. They've been visiting the grand kids a lot, especially little James, since he's getting ready to leave for a year on the Llama Mama world tour.
So when we're alone, sometimes we play pool, ummmm, more like strip-pool. Fortunately, neither of us are any good at the game. The results are usually.....
...........a complete surrender.........
It's not that I don't like kids. It's just that I don't see them fitting into my life right now.
I believe that the greatest thing you'll ever learn..........
.........is just to love.....
..........and be loved in return.
And so this Heiress, is certain that she wants nothing more than to live Happily Ever After.
What could be better than that?
