Sessions From Confessions

Session Three : Friends

So Atlas, when you were a child, did your parents ever take you out socially with friends? People who weren't your relatives? Other playmates perhaps?

Well, I'm kind of related to at least half of Legacy Land.

I imagine so.

There was this play group my mom sometimes took me to, there were other little kids there.

There was this lady, I guess she was the teacher. We called her Miss KiKi. She played the guitar. I remember she only sang songs about bananas.

I like to eat eat eat bananas and bananas
I like to eat eat eat bananas and bananas
I like to eat eat eat bananas and bananas
I like to eat eat eat bananas and bananas

That sounds familiar...

I guess she just liked bananas alot. And she had this friend who used to come and tell us stories.

Hello little children! I'm The Banana Man and I'm here to tell you a story about me!

Did you know Burke was going to be here?

Do you think I would be here if I did?

Don't you have a restraining order or something?

I should...

I always found The Banana Man amusing, but Zeiss was scared of him. The Banana Man always made him cry.

So Little Red Riding Hood was going to visit her grandmother's gingerbread house when a big bad wolf came out of the woods and said "I'll huff and I'll puff so go to the ball with me" So she turned into a pumpkin and made 3 wishes, and do you know what the 3 wishes were? Well neither do I because wishes are secrets and if you tell them they won't come true and you'll have bad luck for seven years which is a bad way to start out your life.. So the wolf ate the poison apple and fell asleep for a hundred years and when he awoke he was very hungry and he was very glad there were so many dwarves to eat, but one was named Rumplestiltskin, and..... I don't want to give away the ending. Come back next week!

He told stories like that to children?

Well, yeah, he was The Banana Man.

No wonder I have so many patients in this town...

It wasn't just stories, we did arts and crafts and blocks and things like that too. I played with Zeiss and my cousin Mohavi and other cousins of cousins.

Do you remember what you liked to draw pictures of?

Of course.

Wargs.

Wargs?

Yes, wargs.

Well this has been very interesting Atlas.

It has?

I'm curious. How do you feel about bananas now, as an adult?

I'm not particularly fond of them, why?

Ah good. I think you're going to be alright. Will you be back next week, same time?

I'll try.
