Errrr, yeah. You could say that.
Why don't you tell me how it started?
I don't even know. My fiance and I were having dinner with them last week - I took her home to introduce her to them. It was all going really great - my mom started showing her family pictures and we got on the topic of birthday parties.
Birthday parties?
Yeah. I've never had one.
You've never had a birthday party?
Well maybe one, when I was a baby, but that doesn't exactly count, does it? I didn't really think about it until my fiance said something about there not being any birthday party pictures. Then my mom got all weird. It got really uncomfortable so we just left. Now they're not returning my calls.
That does seem strange.
It's just that I'm a Poly Sci major, I want to go into politics - maybe even be Mayor someday. I worry that there's some deep dark family secret my parents aren't telling me about... something that could affect my political career.
